On Wednesday afternoon, March 13 2019, Kipco-Damaco welcomed important guests in its site of Oostrozebeke. The Technology Academy of Oostrozebeke had selected our company to come and take a closer look how science, technology, creativity and innovation are applied on a daily basis in the food industry.
With the baseline "Richting Morgen", the Technology Academy aims to encourage young people to choose a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) formation and a career where technology and science lie at the heart. The Technology Academy wants to make a clear link with the business community to convince boys and girls that a technical diploma guarantees plenty of future career opportunities.
The twenty youngsters and their two supervisors were first given a short presentation of the core activities of Kipco-Damaco and were told why the company is the reference with regard to mechanically deboned meat (MDM). Next, the theory was put into practice and the boys and girls were given the opportunity to visit the production department, which was the highlight of the afternoon. On top of that, they were offered chicken nuggets, one of our quality products.
As leading ambassador of the meat processing industry in the region, it was a great honour to make the future generation excited about our vision on technology and science!
